I provide psychotherapy and counselling services to individuals ranging from 16 years old to 80+.

I have experience counselling individuals in areas such as adult ADHD, imposter syndrome,  anxiety, depression, grief, and coping with narcissistic personalities. I’ve worked in rehabilitation, helping clients with acquired brain injuries cope with their life changes. I’ve also worked as a Crisis Worker for the Canadian Mental Health Association with individuals with moderate to severe mental illnesses.

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist. I offer virtual and face-to-face psychotherapy and counselling services in the Muskoka Region, and I’ve been practicing since 2008.

I achieved my Ph.D. in Psychology from Northcentral University, Scottsdale, Arizona. I earned my Master's Degree in Psychology from Carleton University, Ottawa, Ontario. And my Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology from Nipissing University, North Bay, Ontario. I am also a long-standing member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP) and I’m registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).

Prior to my study of psychology, I had a diverse career path. I’ve studied gemology at the Gemological Institute of America in California and practiced as a gemmologist for 15 years. On my return to Canada, I held several jobs, including computer program applications, administrative work, and cellular sales. My life experience has helped me extend understanding beyond sterile textbook knowledge. I recognize how a person’s unique life experience plays a part in their current struggles.

When we are struggling with an issue, it is easy to forget that we are worthy people. Psychotherapy helps reduce symptoms (such as depression and anxiety), while simultaneously reinforcing one's identity and self-worth. If you are struggling, please reach out for support. You are worth the efforts!

What is Psychotherapy?

Occasionally, a person finds that life is more challenging than usual. This may leave the person feeling over whelmed, vulnerable and alone. Whether mentally and/or emotionally, we all have times where we could use a counsellor's help to get us through a "rough patch.” You do not have to face it alone.

Psychotherapy is the treatment of disordered thinking by a professional therapist who specializes in rehabilitative techniques other than drugs or surgery. In our particular sessions, you and I will look take a healthy look at your past, your thoughts and your current situation, in order to get a complete picture of who you are today. From today, we can begin to heal and create a stronger, more positive future.
